Honeywell UOP is an international developer and licensor of process technologies, products, engineered systems and technical services to the refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries, and is a leader in research and development of new technologies and materials for these industries. UOP centers on the continuous development and improvement of advanced processes that are economically sound and reliable. The Project Pricing Sr. Manager role reports to the UOP Global Pricing Leader and features close partnership with UPT’s Executive and Business teams, UPT’s global marketing organization and UPT’s Regional Sales to drive key targets in AOP around value, pass-thru, and transactional pricing actions, and margin optimization. This leader will also work cross-functionally to provide monthly reporting and price administration; as well as work closely with pricing and IT team members to implement and improve Deal Desk analytics and performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Pricing Leadership
  • Become the “Voice of Pricing” within UPT and teach the organization about the importance and impact of pricing on an organization.
  • Closely interact with cross-functional stakeholders and keep pricing plan achievement in focus.
  • Participate in weekly Price Pulse meetings to keep team aligned on pricing performance and ongoing needs.
  • Build relationships and trust to influence stakeholders into making impactful decisions regarding products and pricing strategies.
2. AOP Planning
  • Develop a detailed price plan based on projections to achieve focus, alignment, and synchronization among all organization functions.
  • Engage with Finance, LOB leaders, and regional Teams to gain alignment on the Pricing plan.
  • Identify Lead and lag indicators to achieve the overall business plan, define RAIL and MOS to track effectiveness.

3. AOP Price Execution
  • Cross-Functional Leadership to ensure labor and material costs are known in a timely manner to drive strategic pricing actions throughout the year. (Pass-Thru)
  • Active monitoring of Trade Credit usage and other tactical factors impacting monthly gross price reporting. (Tactical)
  • Work with Project Management to ensure UPT’s Change Order prices are aligned to the competitive value they provide to the customer. (Value)
  • Collect, analyze, and report monthly actual & FY forecast price reporting versus AOP and other established goals.

4. Leading Strategic Projects

  • Lead vital ad-hoc strategic projects; building data models to translate ideas to business actions.
  • Challenge status quo and improvise processes, methodologies; with periodic reporting to senior leadership on program status.
  • Responsible for the design, planning, development, roll-out, and compliance of project outcomes.
  • Lead integration between cross-functional teams to achieve the desired outcomes and avoid business disruptions.

5. Price Measurement

  • Develop Price Measurement methodologies in agreement with Global Finance, PMT, and other stakeholders.
  • Track monthly price realization and provide deep dives to leadership.
  • Challenge data and metrics with the change in business practices; support the GBE and leadership with actionable vital metrics.
  • Build Pricing reports and dashboards to support Price execution and strategy.
  • Develop thorough understanding of various systems to leverage them for price analysis and reporting.

6. Automation/Process Improvement

  • Identify the functional areas where new tools/dashboards can be deployed, or existing ones improved.
  • Participate in the implementation, adoption, and improvement of new price performance/reporting tools for UPT.
  • Develop focused training materials that explain the value of the process improvement or new tool to ensure user commitment and launch success.
  • Monitor and provide measurement of the new process or tool’s user adoption rate and monetary impact on operations and/or price realization improvement.
  • Implement a Deal Desk to enforce policies related to discount control.
  • Create and maintain analytics for evaluating deals within the Deal Desk.

7. Contractual Pricing

  • Identify the functional areas where new tools/dashboards can be deployed, or existing ones improved.
  • Develop actionable understanding of current Contractual entitlements to drive price performance.
  • Build consistent and sustainable pricing terms in contracts to expand price entitlement.
  • Drive integration of LEAP metadata into CPQ tools for forecasting, workflow, and exception alarm management.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant pricing or comparable quantitative experience.

  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) certification from PPS.
  • Proven data analysis experience and solid grasp of pricing models & techniques
  • Ability to translate strategy to execution. Results minded with a focus on execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large transformational projects working with multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated change management skills with ability to influence across & up the organization.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Marketing or MBA.
  • Highly desire SAP, PROS, and Tableau software experience.
  • Pricing Deal Desk experience.
