The primary function of the Technical Manager is providing commercial engineering support to the Off-Highway and Fluid Power industry segments.
Responsible for supporting the Global Segment Director Off-Highway and Americas Segment Manager Fluid Power in strategic planning while supporting the Sales teams in strategy execution.
Strategic:
Develop, support, and promote application specific solutions for Off-Highway and Fluid Power customers. Both customer specific and general segment focused.
Develop product and material recommendations that support the strategic initiatives of Off-Highway and Fluid Power through the investigation of customer applications and associated needs.
Produce and deliver technical guides and training guides for marketing and application engineers. Support the production and delivery of external facing, technical marketing collateral.
Track and report on competitor trends with regards to products, materials, and applications for strategic planning and when necessary tactical responses to the market.
Establishing strategic relationships with selected service, equipment and product suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain in collaboration with purchasing.
Operational:
Segment liaison for Title Projects and other product and material developments.
Provide escalation support of technical questions and concerns from application and sales engineers on target segment applications.
Ensure that appropriate resources are made available to support the Off-Highway and Fluid Power initiatives, liaising with the relevant departmental managers across the organization.
Establish and manage effective links with Product Managers, factories, Sales Managers and Key Account Managers globally.
Complete a monthly report on activity and project status updates.
Provide reports and updates to the appropriate BU President, Global Segment Director and the EB as required.
Participate in budget setting for the segment and align with the Sales Regions on segment growth initiatives
Attend and support trade shows to either gain application specific knowledge and/or to assist potential customers in understanding Trelleborg capabilities.
Support of global activities as requested

Education and Experience
7+ years experience in engineering (or sales) related field
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Engineering preferred)
Strong Technical aptitude beneficial. Must be mechanically inclined.
Must be able to read and understand technical prints
Strong knowledge of business sales and marketing practices within the relevant segments
Knowledge of plastics and elastomers
Previous leadership experience a plus
MBA a plus
