ROLE:
The Home Equity Relationship Specialist role will be making a difference in our members’ lives through their mortgage needs. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality experience for both internal and external members. The Specialist will be responsible for processing Home Equity, Home Improvement, HELOC & Unimproved Property Loan applications.
Provide mortgage support for fellow team members and members.
Originate, process and close home equity products. Closings are processed through coordination with Solution Center partners for branch in-person closings
Prepare closing documents and coordinate branch closing for real estate loans
Maintain up to date knowledge of lending compliance requirements and general knowledge of conventional, FHA and government loans available to the consumer
Balance mortgage GLs and run end of year analysis
Assist members and team members with new and existing real estate loans
Responsible for running applications in mortgage program both end of day and end of month; ensure all departments receive proper reports
Balance new loans at month’s end, prepare and deliver monthly real estate reports
Prepare HELOC and Home Improvement draws
Load any applicable loans into HDMA software
Ensure all documents filed with the county are filed and tracked
Maintain a constant tracking of loan applications received and loans funded
Provide mortgage servicer with any necessary inquiries such as VOD’s and account information
Research and present mortgage portfolio agreements for signature
Assist Title company with payoff requests
Process mortgage payoffs and payments
Load and maintain escrow tracking for escrowed mortgages
Prepare file and gather necessary documents for mortgage files
Apply closing funds accurately to mortgage after closing (escrow, interest)
Process monthly insurance payments from escrow accounts
Run Escrow analysis and pay taxes on escrow accounts
Update ARM index
Complete quarterly balancing of HDMA report and perform year end HDMA audit
Submit HDMA LAR with any correction.
Process year-end tax and insurance payments
Responsible for monthly PMI payments, monthly analysis audit and the cancellation of any PMI paid under 78%
Proactively find ways to support the Mortgage Team’s goals and work collaboratively with fellow team members.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge and training of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, Reg Z.
Requirements:
3-5 Years’ experience in mortgage lending.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred
NMLS Required
Excellent communication skills and proven effectiveness in presentation skills.
Current knowledge of and ability to apply financial service industry standards, laws and regulations.
Ability to input data accurately and efficiently into mortgage lending software systems.
Working knowledge of accounting and loan processing software.
Ability to work under the stress of dealing with a wide range of personalities and monitoring and reviewing the many details of loans and loan packages to ensure completeness, accuracy and funding.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, to present ideas and to report facts and technical information.
Ability to resolve questions and problems on responsibilities as well as manage personal work flow and meet deadlines and production goals.
