Under supervision of Public Information Officer, plan and execute marketing assignments and campaigns, as well as create, post, and monitor content for the social media channels of the Harris County District Clerk’s Office (HCDCO). This position also entails production of videos and graphic design products for internal and external use, as well as occasional planning and execution of outreach projects and media buying operations. Perform other duties as assigned by Public Information Officer. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Communications and/or Marketing from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in a position that matches all or most of the items detailed in the job description for this positionMust be eligible for employment in the United States. Testing will be required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively is essential.Must be able to meet deadlines.Ability to work on more than one project at a time.Must possess excellent verbal and visual communication skills.Ability to maintain the highest standards of ethical behavior, exercising honesty, integrity, and confidentiality in the execution of assigned responsibilities.Extensive knowledge of management of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn – One of the main tasks for this position is growing the social media following of the HCDCO.Extensive knowledge of content creator software, including Adobe Premiere, Canva, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.Willingness to learn and apply HCDCO internal guidelines and protocols directly related to the fulfillment of the Marketing and Social Media Specialist position.Must be eligible for employment in the United States.Testing will be requiredNOTE: Qualifying education, experience, knowledge and skills must be documented on your job application.
