The Quality Control Product Label Printing Technician (Quality Product Labeling Technician) works with Visual Inspection staff to understand/anticipate demand and timing for specific printed labels for production runs. In this role, the Technician creates and owns the real-time labeling process to ensure labels are printed within acceptable timing of batch release from manufacturing and supplies the Visual Inspection and Labeling staff with labels ahead of time to avoid any downtime or scheduling changes due to the lack of labels printed.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Owns the label printing process for Empower Pharmacy’s outsourcing facility operations
- Assists all Empower Pharmacy locations with label printing as needed
- Serves as the main point-of-contact for all label-printing escalations company-wide
- Leads problem solving initiatives with labeling issues from label application to customer receipt
- Assists with the procurement and/or design of label printers, parts, accessories and labels
- Performs routine visual inspection of printed labels to ensure they are legible
- Performs routine care and maintenance of the label printers
- Completes necessary documents for accountability and traceability of products following Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
- Complies with 503B guidelines, cGMPs and company standards
- Completes documentation of activities in accordance with established procedures of labels printed
- Maintains labeling supplies inventory
- Coordinates with the marketing team to create new label templates
- Obtains approvals for new labels and label revisions
- Performs other duties as assigned
- May work entire shift sitting down or standing up for consecutive days
- Must have good eyesight (CFR compliance) for visual inspection
- Works as an independent performer and continually improves performance
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and other regulatory compliance regulations and standards
- Labeling processes and techniques
- Principles of mathematical and statistical computations
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds
- High School Diploma required
- Experience in a pharmaceutical biotech industry preferred
- Laboratory experience preferred
