Large successful, top rated Plaintiff’s Personal Injury law firm with corporate headquarters in North Houston, Texas is seeking a Personal Injury Legal Assistant.

Job Title: All Phase Legal Assistant (POD)

Job Duties

  • Review and compare medical and billing records. Call and confirm current outstanding balances. Update each provider entry in the value tab to reflect any payments and/or adjustments. Check the County website for any possible liens filed by the hospital. Request updated lien listing from subrogation companies. Communicate with our Medical and Billing

Records Specialist.

  • Calling 1P insurance companies to follow up on PIP/MedPay checks or to have stale checks reissued.
  • Calling insurance companies for settlement release forms and open first- and third-party insurance claims. Preparing pay out letters for medical providers, lien holders, associating attorneys, and clients.
  • Drafting reduction request letters, fax, and/or email.
  • Sending out reduction request to medical providers, debt collectors, health insurance companies etc.
  • Provide detailed support to attorneys and Case Managers
  • Set up new client files in case management database, and ensure files are accurately maintained and updated using NEEDLES.
  • Draft/format correspondence to clients, other attorneys, and adjusters
  • Extensive telephone contact with adjusters and clients.
  • Review Crash Report research using LexisNexis and numerous database websites.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, must be able to multi-task and work under pressure, Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook

Preferred Skills

  • Two (2) years Personal Injury experience, preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (i.e., read and write) is a big plus
  • Needles case management software a big plus

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:
