Mil Mujeres Legal Services, a Non-Profit Organization is looking for a Full-time Immigration Attorney in our Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, and Philadelphia offices.

About the Organization:

Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a nonprofit organization focusing on immigration benefits for survivors of violent crimes and their families. We offer immigration legal services to the low-income Latino community who have been victims of violent crimes within the United States. Our primary focus is gender-based crime survivors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal and factual research to determine participants’ legal eligibility and suitability of cases for referral or representation;
  • Counsel and prepare immigrant and non-immigrant visas;
  • Represents clients in removal proceedings in Immigration Courts, including in asylum cases;
  • Represent clients in other immigration matters such as adjustment of status and naturalization interviews before USCIS;
  • Counsel and prepare immigrant and non-immigrant visas;
  • Review and proofread complex evidence and case documents;
  • Track, monitor, and log all evidence and documents for client cases;
  • Create, compile, and prepare all documentation for filing;
  • Proactively research new legislation and legal changes in immigration law;
  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage case deadlines for clients;


  • J.D. from an accredited university;
  • Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction;
  • Membership in good standing in the bar of any state;
  • Local to the office area, the position will be primarily remote but requires one day per week at the office. Precautions are in place to ensure safe access to the office;
  • Fluency in Spanish;
  • Strong advocacy, research, and writing skills; high-level attention to detail; and strong academic credentials;
  • Ability to work on daily tasks independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision;
  • Prior experience as an immigration attorney or interest in learning about immigration law;
  • A sincere desire to advocate for Latino Community; Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and writing skills;

Probationary Period: The candidate selected is required to serve a probationary trial period for a month.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am- 6:00 pm EST.

Salary: The current entry salary is $ 50,000 annually

40 hours per week
