3D Systems is a pioneer in 3D printing technology leading the development and delivery of additive manufacturing solutions for industrial and healthcare markets. This position will play a key leadership role within the Lab Bioprinting Business Unit in the Healthcare Solutions Group in the execution of key strategic scientific projects.
As a 3D Systems Biomaterials Scientist, you will run key experiments to develop new biomaterials for our bioprinting R&D programs. You will see products move through experimental design stages to productization. You will collaborate with other bioengineers to deliver on milestones set up for our programs, ensuring to meet timelines and present desirable results. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have demonstrated exceptional communication and organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) or equivalent experience in materials science or relevant area of scientific research;
- Experience with biomaterial synthesis, processing, scale-up and characterization;
- Experience sourcing raw materials and managing a portfolio of suppliers;
- 4+ years experience with hydrogels synthesis and characterization;
- Successful track record of taking materials from the bench to the market highly preferred;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Extensive experience documenting, analyzing, interpreting experimental data;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Experience setting up QA experiments and processes for biomaterial production;
- Experience with ISO 10993 standards, biomaterials, toxicological assessment, extractable and leachable analysis, and biocompatibility assessment highly preferred;
- Experience with bioinks and 3D printing preferred, but not required.
