Job Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit leadership, direct supervision, and training and development of Workshop technicians
  • Responsible for the development of Workshop personnel, tracking training progress and competencies, and actively involved in performance appraisals, promotion reviews and training planning for technicians
  • Prioritizes equipment repairs/manufacturing in collaboration with Asset Management and Global Product Line Managers (GPLM) to meet global demand requirements
  • Directs Workshop R&M/MFG LWD, MWD and RSS Lead Technicians to plan repairs/manufacturing to equipment and establishes completion schedule
  • Directs Workshop communications to Manufacturing Director the status of equipment repairs including expected completion date and expected repair costs
  • Directs necessary workshop upgrades or modifications and ensures they are performed as per instructions in ECNs from Product Engineering
  • Directs Workshop collaborations with Manufacturing, Research & Development, Product Engineering, Operations, and Global R&M to develop ways to improve procedures, systems, and equipment of existing and developing LWD, MWD and RSS technologies for improved customer satisfaction
  • Certifies that failure analysis processes are adhered to and completed in as timely a manner as is possible
  • Guides Workshop R&M/MFG LWD, MWD, RSS Lead Technicians and Production Planner in managing part orders, repairing of parts, and setting of minimum stock levels
  • Manages inventory and maintaining total value, accuracy, control, and cycle counting
  • Ensures all facility financial work order activities are accurate and timely (parts and labor)
  • Certifies that all assets are accounted for and records in WAM are accurate and up to date
  • Ensures all workshop equipment is maintained in good order, all calibrations are up to date, and the documentation for both is kept
  • Manages the R&M/MFG facility, ensuring it is kept efficiently organized and equipped with necessary supplies and tools
  • Ensures all Service Delivery Quality management systems including service records pertaining to R&M/MFG applications are utilized and accurate and up to date (WAM, MyAdvisor, JDE, etc.) and all quality management processes are utilized (NCRs, OFIs, CRs)
  • Ensure applicable products are built in conformance with certification standards, engineering documentation, the Weatherford Enterprise Excellence policy, in a cost-efficient manner and on time
  • Responsible for ensuring proper tools are available to technicians as required to perform their functions and the tools are safeguarded against loss and unsafe usage
  • Working with the Quality Assurance group, ensure applicable tools and equipment are properly and timely calibrated
  • Prepare and maintain applicable reports as assigned by manager or required to manage assigned personnel at optimum efficiency levels knowing what projects are on the floor at any one time
  • Participate in weekly production update meetings as required and follow through with any issues requiring timely attention or escalation
  • Working with other Manufacturing Specialists, ensure that proper supervision is provided to the manufacturing personnel during all working hours to include, but not limited to, extended weekday hours, weekends, and supervisor absences
  • Perform required HR/employee relations duties for team of technicians, including, but not limited to, hiring, training, performance reviews and terminations
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
  • Minimally 10+ years related experience with certifications or licenses
  • Related Technical/College degree
  • Experience in new build capital and repair & maintenance
  • Experience in Drilling Services
