General Summary

The primary function of this position is the daily management of the Gas Processing Applications Team. The team is responsible for developing estimates and proposals for modular gas processing and treating systems primarily in the midstream space. This includes sizing, simulating, bid clarifications, 3rd party supplier/vendor engagement, and setting delivery durations. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing talent to support the future growth of the company.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Technical and administrative oversight of applications engineers
  • Work strategically with key suppliers
  • Oversee, mentor, and train applications engineers making use of performance and skillset evaluation
  • Work closely with Sales department to provide superior support to the customer
  • Provide detailed analysis of data affecting win/loss, costs, and margins
  • Support and champion new business and reporting systems development as required to improve overall business performance (not just estimating)
  • Keep abreast of technological advancements in the industry to aid in recognizing cost-saving opportunities
  • Coordinate with sales to assess the mix of market opportunity, competitive landscape, Enerflex capabilities, and opportunity risk versus reward
  • Assign resources to bid opportunities per the bid strategy and priorities from Sales
  • Ensure scope development is appropriate for the bid strategy and project risk and complexity profile
  • Network and develop relationships with customers to further the Enerflex brand reputation and promise
  • Model and champion Enerflex core values in ways that center team culture on these values
  • Abide by and promote Enerflex’s HSE policy

Job Specifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in midstream gas processing and treating
  • A minimum of 5 years of processes design, and estimating modular gas plants
  • Knowledge of API, GPA, ASME, ANSI, NACE, and other applicable codes
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Extremely knowledgeable in gas processing and gas treating to include simulation and mechanical design
  • Proven overall dependability, reliability, and responsibility
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ethical behavior
  • Willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek guidance through open dialogue
  • Communication skills including interpreting and communicating information
  • Excellent networking and customer relationship skills
  • Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed
  • Ability to generate alternative solutions
  • Ability to develop new leaders

  • Frequently required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends
