Boeing Defense and Space Systems is growing and actively recruiting engineers in the area of spacecraft Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) system design, development, integration and test at its Houston location. Space and Launch Engineering is looking for motivated, talented engineers to join the Boeing team in this exciting business area. Houston GN&C engineers support a wide range of new and on-going Boeing programs including Phantom Works spacecraft development programs, the International Space Station and Commercial Crew programs, as well as other projects from around Boeing. The selected candidates for this position will provide state of the art GN&C systems, performance analysis and simulation solutions to our customers, and will have visibility across the Boeing enterprise into modern GN&C and simulation development methods. Gather and define system level requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) systems or missions/trajectories
Perform design & analysis of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems, simulations, models & tools
Support design reviews, analyses, simulations and component / system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
Support troubleshooting of delivered product operational / service anomalies and incidents
Participate in new business development efforts
Work under general supervision
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience or coursework in Control Systems or Guidance, Navigation and Control System design
Experience or coursework working with spacecraft, missile, aircraft, autonomous platform or similar vehicle Guidance, Navigation or Control systems
Experience or coursework in computer programming in C, C#, C++, Ada or other common programming languages
Experience or coursework using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX
Experience or coursework in Modern and Optimal Control Theory
Experience or coursework with simulation and / or system/component modeling
Experience or coursework with Kalman Filter design, estimation techniques
Experience or coursework with implementing algorithms in real time systems
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
