The Job

The Application Engineer provides sales and administrative support focused on project scope and requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including the following.

  • Perform Scania administrative functions, including horsepower changes and torsional vibrational analysis
  • Perform Kubota administrative functions, including Kubota Compliance reporting
  • Place purchase orders as needed
  • Maintain bill of materials with Great Plains ERP, and on Loftin SharePoint site
  • Perform needed edits to manufacturing orders
  • Support warranty requests for Loftin Equipment Co. package items and work/coordinate with vendors, customer and Loftin warranty rep to resolve claims
  • Procure, interview and onboard new vendors as needed
  • Perform cost analysis of vendor spend
  • Provide technical support to fellow departments.
  • Works with and supports engine production and reman departments
  • Works with engine production and reman to ascertain and mitigate product non-conformance
  • Listen, understand, and convey customer technical requirements
  • Resolve production issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects
  • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
  • Provide technical support to the Project Management Team for submittal/re-submittal to customers for designated projects
  • Provide product training to other departments as assigned
  • Provide activity updates in weekly Project Management, Sales Executive, and Inside Sales Meetings
  • Keep a detailed report of all ongoing projects to be reviewed weekly and bi-monthly
  • Assist all departments with technical and field support as needed
  • Support Senior Engineer as needed throughout sales territory
  • Participate in joint sales calls with Sales Executives, Business Development as needed
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for process improvement
  • Travel as needed, up to 30%
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus 2-5+ years’ relevant work experience.
  • Strong CAD skills are a must.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience with SolidWorks highly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP required, Great Plains software preferred.
  • Interact professionally with all levels of leadership.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skill
  • Must be a team player, detail-orientated, and flexible
  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision

Comp & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $70,000-$80,000+, depending on experience and qualifications
