Eaton Corporation’s Marketing Commercial Operations Division, located in Houston, Texas has an immediate opening for an Experience Center Engineer. Relocation is available for this role.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Power Systems Experience Center (PSEC) manager, the Experience Center Engineer works closely with sales and marketing segment managers and division product marketing to directly support the operation and growth of the Experience Center. The Experience Center Engineer’s primary responsibilities include safety and facility operation management, customized technical training and demonstrations for visitors that range from customer and Eaton executives to students. Key responsibilities also include designing, building, programming, and troubleshooting new and existing demonstrations, and marketing responsibilities including videos, web and printed materials supporting the multiple Experience Centers. Leadership responsibilities include direct management of co-op/intern students and senior design students. The role is also responsible for assisting in training new Experience Center Engineers hired in Houston or Warrendale and for supporting synergy across Experience Center sites, including operational, demonstrations and content. synergies.

In this function you will:

  • Directly support Warrendale Power Systems Experience Center and provide assistance and support to Houston Experience Center as required.
  • Project management responsibility in support of large scale ($100K to $2M) project implementations
  • Lead technical tours, including the demonstration of energized electrical equipment, tailored for a range of customers from students to C-Level executives and internal training events
  • Serve as facility/operations manager which includes ensuring safety of all visitors during live demonstrations of electrically energized equipment
  • Direct management (hold APEX responsibilities) for intern/co-op engineers during PSEC assignments
  • Oversee and facilitate senior design projects with University students
  • Manage, enforce and document safety procedures for PSEC
  • Provide technical leadership with papers/presentations
  • Provide technical leadership for design supported by PSEC – i.e. collaborative projects with universities
  • Collaborate with product line/product managers in Electrical Sector Divisions to support the proper representation of products and solutions within the Experience centers to ensure alignment with strategic goals

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited Institution required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience with electrical power system equipment and applications
  • Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring company sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MSEE or MBA)
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of PLC programming required CODESYS and Visual Designer
  • Broad knowledge of Electrical Sector product and service offerings/capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of power quality and power systems engineering
  • Strong computer skills, including well versed in MS Office Suite of tools and Adobe Professional
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with safety procedures related to working with and on electrical equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, multi-tasking and self-motivated individual
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, customers, and customer relations.
  • Experience with Eaton sales systems preferred (VISTA, BIDMAN, etc)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Must be very comfortable interacting and presenting to visitors of all backgrounds including C-Level executives, technical specialists, and students.
