Hill International is seeking a Safety Inspector in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities:
  • Continually assess controlling employer’s adherence to project-specific safety plans and procedures in addition to applicable federal, state, and local requirements for planning and performance of definable features of work.
  • Proactively utilizes the understanding of goals, plans, procedures, and applicable regulations to promote compliance to applicable standards regarding project safety and worker protection.
  • Maintains a log book, recording labor force and labor hours on the job site, weather conditions, data relative to questions of work directive changes, change orders, or changed conditions, list of job site visitors, daily activities, decisions and observations in general.
  • Performs weekly peer safety assessment together preferable with client and controlling employer representatives and prepares a weekly summary report deliverable to the project manager.
  • Reviews project related accident reports and assesses and promotes controlling/correcting employer’s implementation of corrective actions.
  • Works to promote proactive and timely guidance in response to concerns pertaining to project safety and health
  • Participates in the recognition and promotion of safe behaviors and the planning and performance of work.
Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience supporting project safety and health management within the construction industry.
  • Must have construction building safety experience and Life Safety experience associate with NFPA 101.
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the Covid-19 vaccination by date of hire. Medical or Religious exemptions will be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
  • A four year college degree in a related occupational safety and health discipline and professional certification (e.g. Board of Certified Safety Professionals) preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable standards and specifications.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy; working knowledge of personal computers including Windows, Excel, and project management software.
  • Valid Driver’s license
Training:
  • OSHA 30 hour outreach in construction
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Lead awareness
