Position Summary:
A key element in this member service position is to identify the member's financial needs and recommend an appropriate Credit Union solution. In addition the position will assist existing and new members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, new accounts and services.

Financial Services Representative II Responsibilities are:

  • Build member relationships to achieve or exceed the established sales and service goals.
  • Perform daily member services, such as opening and closing accounts, and account research.
  • Welcome members and provide routine information concerning services; direct members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
  • Receive and process member financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments; merchandise sales.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Credit Union and branch goals, and recommend appropriate products and services to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Achieve and maintain an expert level of product knowledge and sales skills in order to identify, recommend, and promote the appropriate products and services to meet individual member needs.
  • Process member financial transactions; originate, process, and close consumer loans.
  • Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss.
  • Observe Credit Union guidelines, policies, and procedures in order to adhere to compliance, regulations and security standards.
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Promote and establish strong, positive, and productive working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Update member information and records as requested.
  • Complete requests for special services, such as statements copies, check copies, stop payment orders and debit cards.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including processing reports, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
  • Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned

Financial Services Representative II Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to maintain significant levels of diplomacy and trust, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to provide excellent internal and external service; effective people skills
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to use applicable computer software
  • Ability to motivate or influence others

Education and Experience

  • High school education or GED 6 months – 2 years relevant experience
  • Credit Union or Banking experience: 2 years

ADA Requirements

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
