We’re looking for an experience d marke te r to help drive forward the strategic vision for the Mattress Firm brand. Over the last 18 month s, w e ’ve started laying the groundwork for what the brand is and where we want to go and now, we are looking for someone to help build on it and bring it to life.

This person will help shape key priorities and lead the brand roadmap – including but not limited to purpose , architecture, enterprise growth initiatives, annual planning, and advertising campaigns . Th ey will need to have a deep understanding of consumer shopping behaviors for both general market and Hispanic audiences , in both traditional and digital platforms, as their role will be focused pulling the brand promise through all channel experiences. The role will focus on identifying and developing strategies and breakthrough creative that delivers on consumer needs that ultimately drives incremental demand today while building awareness to support long-term advocacy and growth.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining Mattress Firm’s private brands as well as the overall product content strategy. They will work to grow and develop our private brands whil e elevat ing and grow ing our cross-channel content capabilities more holistically . This person will have experience with developing strategies and tactics to differentiate and elevate product content across the company’s owned, earned and paid channels.

The right person will feel equally comfortable in strategy and execution- and will have experience across both creative and media . The role will report into the VP of Brand and will lead the brand marketing department including a team of f ive in addition to key agency and cross-functional oversight .

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Architecting the brand portfolio strategy to maximize the value of the portfolio and offers in addition to develop ing proper standards and processes to mature brand stewardship and governance across the enterprise

  • Work closely across the organization to support CX enterprise initiatives, tools, partnerships including building and leading GTM strategies and creative for new product launches- think mobile app, new technology, etc

  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive the brand promise forward by creating experiences that drive deeper engagement – develop a prioritized roadmap in partnership with CX and digital team s

  • Drive organizational engagement and alignment around our brand purpose

  • Create and lead brand strategy, comm s , and creative strateg ies for both mass and multicultural audiences rooted in consumer insights and market trends

  • Lead development of strategic campaigns and creative, directing agency partners, developing toolkits, and orchestrating 360-degree activation plans

  • Work cross-functionally and partner with creative teams and agencies to bring our brand essence and identity to life in a unified way across all omni t ouchpoints

  • R esponsible for leading annual integrated planning and authoring associated creative briefs to support brand programs and campaigns across the calendar year

  • Develop and maintain Mattress Firm’s private label product brands and working across the organization to ensure they are positioned and marketed appropriately to meet sell through targets

  • Identify areas of innovation and growth for product content across all channels and be able to implement strategies and plans to support them

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements:

  • 10 + years of experience in marketing strategy for high growth brands, either in retail or at an agency

  • Former brand-building experience, establishing brand guardrails , strategic frameworks, and adept at developing unified communications across customer touch points

  • Proven at developing bold yet pragmatic creative and campaigns that drive meaningful business results

  • Understanding of brand, consumer shopping behaviors, and digital platforms, as the role will be focused on pulling the brand promise through our digital content and channel experiences

  • Proven track record of developing innovative content strategies that yield successful effort

  • Solid experience rallying partners and external agencies to do work that not only delivers but pushes the thinking

  • Ability to shape and harness qualitative and quantitative research to drive good decision-making

  • Phenomenal at driving the big picture and overarching mission, but also happy to get into the weeds and to get things done

  • Someone comfortable with ambiguity and are a self-starter who can be nimble on your feet

  • Demonstrated strength managing and collaborating in virtual teams
