Bee Busy Wellness Center is seeking qualified candidates for the Social Media Specialist position. The SMS will work to develop community mobilization and execute relevant awareness activities targeting underserved communities through social media, television, radio, community and educational events and cross-departmental collaborative projects. The SMS will be responsible for defining and executing specific media and marketing strategies including cultivating new communities and managing existing online communities on the organization’s behalf using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms. The SMS will provide relevant content daily while tracking metrics, monitoring conversations, posting of pictures and any uploaded videos. The Social Media Specialist has overall responsibility for all aspects of developing, implementing, and managing social media campaigns, events, social media platform accounts. Also, will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of social media and digital initiatives, which is inclusive of developing and managing viral market campaigns for any program, event, or group associated with or affiliated with Bee Busy Inc. This individual is expected to maximize the organization’s exposure via all social media platforms and to facilitate any training regarding social media to staff.

QUALIFICATIONS: Potential Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications with at least 3+ years’ experience within the non-profit sector with a high school diploma. Additionally, candidates must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe. Candidates should possess experience working with a diverse workforce along with prior experience working with non-profit community services corporation a plus. Candidate must have excellent work ethics and must be able to work in a team environment. Fluency in Spanish as a second language preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn and exemplify the Agency’s mission
  • Must be available beyond normal business hours (9-6), which is inclusive of holidays, weekends, early mornings and late evenings.
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation to travel to external sites, venues, or events.
  • Attends and participates in any mandatory in-person or remote meetings, conferences, webinars, conference calls, or trainings scheduled.
  • Presents Activity Reports during department and staff meetings.
  • Assist in special projects; (i.e. organizing community events, social media campaigns or organization projects)
  • Work with the Marketing/Media team to develop and implement a social media strategy to promote program activities and events.
  • Promote social media within the Agency.
  • Creates content for posting to social media sites.
  • Design marketing materials.
  • Develop, Implement, and manage social media campaigns.
  • Use social networking analysis tools.
  • Professional photography and videography of program activities and events.
  • Facilitates training(s) to staff regarding any new or upcoming changes in social media, multimedia systems or applications.
  • Ensure that all statements, postings, pictures, etc., are in alignment with Bee Busy’s mission, vision, and purpose.
  • IMMEDIATELY notify management if anything is posted, tagged, etc., not in alignment with Bee Busy’s mission, vision, and purpose.
  • Monitor what is “shared, uploaded, tagged, or posted” on any of Bee Busy’s websites or associated platforms.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports of activities to measure the effectiveness of social media.
  • Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
  • This is a grant-funded position subject to annual renewals.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
