KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Specialist in Deal Advisory and Strategy Analytics for our Deal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high quality data visualizations to support the development, learning and operational insights for our firm and clients
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business intelligence developers and the front-end development team to create visualizations in custom web apps and within Power BI
  • Understand complex business processes and industry-specific analysis, translate them into requirements for visualizations that will help provide insights into data for clients and the firm
  • Participate in the development lifecycle for visualizations by building initial prototypes, deploy visualization for production systems and participate in the update and maintenance over time
  • Collaborate with designers to understand our user's and client's needs to understand visualizations that will be effective and understood to drive operational improvement or insight

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of recent experience in data visualization, web development, business intelligence or data journalism
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative field (data science, computer science, economics, mathematics, or a quantitative social science or physical science field) or in graphic design and fine arts fields with an emphasis on interactive media or data communication
  • Experience with data visualization/business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tool; preference for PowerBI
  • A working knowledge of JavaScript-based data visualization libraries (D3.js, processing.js, Plotly); familiarity with visualization libraries in R (ggplot2) and Python (matplotlib, Bokeh) are a plus
  • Have a good understanding of the principles for visual display of information, including color hierarchy, understanding appropriate shapes to represent quantities and a design-oriented thinking focused on end-users
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical users
