Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager, you will assist in the administration of Human Resources policies and procedures, on-boarding, benefits, employment practices, salary administration, training, staffing, and other related functions to ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations for our union and non-union employees in PA, OH, MD, VA, CT and MA.


On site training will be required with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule once up to speed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality human resources support to an NPL area or region; communicate new, changing, and existing policies and procedures, and ensures understanding and compliance.
  • Effectively support change management initiatives by communicating the change and helping people move from current to future state.
  • Assist managers and supervisors on employee relations issues regarding appraisals, discipline, and employment decisions. Involves local union representation when required.
  • Maintain HRIS records and personnel files; assist the area/region in processing new hires, transfers, terminations, leaves of absences, and exit surveys.
  • Perform recruiting activities and assist supervisors and managers in the recruiting process as needed; building strategic alliances with organizations that further our strategic employment efforts and support company affirmative action plans.
  • Administer new hire process to ensure new hire paperwork is properly processed and all company policies and procedures are followed; conduct new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a smooth integration into the company’s culture.
  • Communicate and administer new and existing benefits and resolving issues and providing counseling and assistance to employees in all related areas.
  • Provide consultation to managers regarding appropriate compensation decisions using the company compensation structure as a guide.
  • Coordinate company Drug and Alcohol and Criminal Background screening programs, communicates results and company actions.
  • Assist the area/region with employee relations and compliance.
  • Coordinate the development of job descriptions and routes them through the proper approval channels.
  • Assist managers and employees with career development opportunities.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned or requested.

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year HR experience or equivalent education and work experience
  • Knowledge of safety practices, Worker's Compensation and basic OSHA regulation
  • Proficient use with computers and software to include Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to influence through persuasion using data, logic and example using verbal and written communication skills to present to individuals and group in a professional manner
  • Forward thinking to plan and schedule for long and short term working effectively in an autonomous environment

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
