This position, reports to the Director of Risk Management, NORTAM headquartered in Houston TX. The position is responsible for administrative support for the function.


Assist the Risk Management Department with the following:

  • Coordinates as needed, communication and requests between TPA and CEVA business units and personnel to facilitate management of claims
  • Ensures proper distribution of incoming Incident Reports as necessary for delivery to TPA or input into Risk Management Information System (RMIS) for record only purposes
  • Processes payments associated with claims functions upon request
  • Retrieves and distributes department incoming and outbound mail
  • Supports TPA requests for additional information and utilizes TPA claims system to upload or download information as needed by managers
  • Gains system knowledge of TPA and Risk Management Information Systems within confines of authorizations in systems
  • Provides investigative support as requested by TPA and authorized by managers in the process of claims investigations and adjustment
  • Works with brokers in monopolistic state administration needs, including periodic filings, report preparation, receipt and distribution, payroll and headcount information and check processing.
  • Acts as backup to Department AP process and invoice verification including proper verification of amounts
  • Acts as administrative backup to Risk Manager as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Associates Degree preferred in a relevant area of expertise
  • Insurance Claims designations a plus


  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office functions, including Outlook
  • Working knowledge of data input functions, experience in RMIS a plus
  • Basic knowledge of claims functions and processes along with some fundamental knowledge of insurance is preferred but not required
  • High degree of organizational skills and time management required
  • Positive attitude, working in a multi-dimensional and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to measure urgency of claims needs and adjust workflow accordingly
