PO&G Resources is a rapidly growing, twenty-two-year-old private oil and gas company located in the Galleria/Uptown area of Houston, TX. With the continued growth of our operations and the planned launch of a second investor fund, the company is hiring an Administrative Assistant to be responsible for various administrative support functions in our Houston Galleria office.

The Administrative Assistant role is a critical role within PO&G Resources, as the workload of our entire team increases relative to our exciting new business growth. This position partners with employees at all levels within our company to accomplish business objectives, maintain and coordinate schedules, and anticipate and fulfill needs. This role will be privy to confidential information and must develop and maintain a high level of trust with all personnel.

To be successful in this role, a candidate will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a high degree of competency in Microsoft Office applications, to include Outlook, Word, Power Point, Teams, and Excel. Demonstrated proficiency in taking proactive initiative, thinking quickly and problem-solving abilities will all play an important part in helping us find the right candidate. Prior oil and gas experience is absolutely required, as is the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize self and others.


  • Working effectively with personnel in all departments and at all levels of our organization to ensure daily business needs are supported and deadlines met.
  • Assisting with a variety of basic, intermediate, and advanced administrative tasks including office logistics, data entry, copying, faxing, filing, data tracking, and various mailing activities.
  • Researching, coordinating, and delivering responses to outside inquiries.
  • Coordinating document storage submittals and retrievals.
  • Assisting with onboarding new vendors.
  • Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Coordinating travel and expense reporting as required.
  • Managing calendars of select personnel, conference rooms, and other activities.
  • Organizing and maintaining files relating to correspondence, records etc. and following up on pending matters.
  • Support for collecting information and data for reporting.
  • Coordinating and providing back up to other office administration team members.
  • Other duties as assigned, in line with overall position and business of PO&G.

Required Competencies:

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • High School degree is required.
  • Strong work tenure and experience: 3 -5 years’ experience in office administration.
  • High level of professionalism in demeanor.
  • Recognition that all tasks must be completed in a timely and organized manner, with a high degree of quality, correctness, and completeness.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile – go-getter, can do attitude with a desire to pitch in wherever and whenever needed.
  • Emotional maturity and self-confidence.
  • Desire to continue learning and growing.

  • Experience with social media and web page maintenance preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and not deviate from advised instructions.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Experience with administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Proficiency with time tracking.
  • Experience with accounting coding preferred.
  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
